This dictionary is the gold standard for editors and writers. I'm giving it only two stars, because it's now almost unusable.The font size is too small for anybody over the age of 40. Also, the paper is so thin that too much of the other side of the page shows through. The text is borderline unreadable because of these issues.Also, my copy was kind of shabby. It was shrink wrapped, but the dust jacket is severely torn. Also, about 20 pages were folded over by half an inch. That's a manufacturing defect that they should have caught.I have to use this dictionary, because it's required for my job. For the rest of you, I recommend choosing an alternative with larger type and thicker paper. There are several well-respected alternatives to Merriam-Webster.
